Printing with Letterpress

Letterpress printing is a relief printing process that has been in use since the 15th century.  In fact, letterpress printing was the primary way to print until offset printing was developed in the twentieth century.   The process starts by locking movable type or plates into the bed of a press.  The type or plates are then inked and pressed against paper.  The pressing of the plates into the paper makes an impression on the paper and gives the invitation a three-dimensional appearance.
